We are all familiar with the twelve signs of the zodiac, but may be unaware of the meaning of each sign. Sometimes we also tend to check astrology signs compatibility, for fun and at times seriously to find out which signs match the characteristics of the other signs. Zodiac is derived from the Greek word zodiakos, which means 'the circle of life'.

Each sign is ruled by a planet and governed by either one of the four elements - air, water, earth and fire. It is said that an individual born under a particular zodiac sign shows an influence of the element in his character.

Each of the sun signs has its own traits, both positive and negative. Individuals born on the first or last day of the zodiac sign are said to be on the cusp and tend to show characteristics of both the astrological signs.
